Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-platform, cross-browser plug-in designed to provide rich online experience. Microsoft Silverlight is ready for business with printing support, charting, and integration with back end systems and server products including Microsoft SharePoint. IT creates an ideal platoform for developing and deploying business applications. In providing better online experiences this is an attempt to dislodge Flash from its dominant position. Using Silverlight in 32-bit Internet Explorer process on x64 systems provide much better results. A comprehensive printing support that enables hardcopy reports and documents is a new feature in the latest version. Microsoft Silverlight also has a full set of forms control with over 60 customizable components. RichTextbox with hyperlinks, images and editing and Masked textbox etc., are the new controls included.
The system requirements include X86 or x64 500-megahertz (MHz) or higher processor with 128-megabytes (MB) of RAM. Also in case of Windows Vista a combination of Windows Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2 is preferable. For Windows XP SP2.. Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2 is advisable.
